It will come as little consolation to Sixers’ fans, but the 76ers did play great defense again in a 78-77 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers at home Friday night. The Sixers entered the game as 3 1/2-point favorites against the Pacific Division-leading Clippers. It was the first time this season that the Sixers have lost two games in a row outright as well as the first time that they have lost two in a row ATS. They fell to San Antonio by 10 points on Wednesday.
The Sixers slipped to 17-9-1 against the spread but another outstanding defensive effort meant that the Under was a winner. The Under is 16-11 in Sixers’ games.
The Sixers are in first place in the Atlantic Division, at 18-9.
