Daily Fantasy Sports:
Tuesday Night

In looking for my roster for daily fantasy on FanDuel today, I love seeing Roy Halladay available again. Makes me feel good. But I am not going to pay $8,600 for him. Instead I am going with Travis Wood for $7,400 against the Marlins. He walks too many for my taste, but I like the low WHIP.

Another bargain I see is OF Seth Smith facing Roy Oswalt for $3,400. When Smith makes contact, things can happen and Oswalt has not been good.

OF Carlos Beltran is also a relative bargain at $3,600 for a lifetime .325 hitter against Randy Wolf (40 at bats).

Ross Ohlendorf has not pitched well this year. Houston has not been hitting. Something has to give and I believe it’s Ohlendorf. Even Brian Bixler has hit Ohlendorf in the past, but I find it hard to take a guy that is hitless in his last 5 games. Instead I will tap 2B Jose Altuve for $3,300.

1B Paul Konerko does bad things to balls that Jon Lester throws. Filthy, obscene things not fit for the eyes of Red Sox fans. To the count of 9 for 21 with 3 homeruns. That’s a 1.452 OPS. That’s ridiculous, and it only costs $3,300 in salary at FanDuel tonight. OF Dayan Viciedo is also 2 for 6 with a HR against Lester. He may be worth a look but $3,500 seems a bit high.

Boston can feel good that they are playing Philip Humber though, who has not been good lately. C Jarrod Saltalamacchia is 3 for 5 with 2 HR against Humber. He has been hitting awfully lately, maybe too much so to justify $3,400, but I may take a chance.

Zach Britton returns to the mound for the Orioles tonight against Minnesota. He had better hope they’re tired from the 19 runs they hung on the O’s last night. It probably won’t help that 3B Trevor Plouffe  is 2 for 3 in the past against Britton and the salary is a bit high at $3,700.
