DeepStacks Poker is offering PhillyGambles readers an opportunity to take half off the price of Saturday’s all-star instructional workshop at Parx Casino in Bensalem featuring Philadelphia poker pro Matt Glantz. The one-day workshop will be held 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, the day before the main event starts for the Parx Spring Showdown, a World Poker Tour Regional event.
The cost for players signing up here for the DeepStacks Workshop is $500—half of the normal price of $1,000.
“I compare playing poker to driving a car,” said DeepStacks CEO Chris Torina. “Playing without instruction is like driving a car blindfolded. As long as the road is straight, you may avoid an accident. But once there’s the slightest curve, you’re in trouble. Poker is the same. Without good instruction, as soon as the game takes a turn on you, you’re in trouble. For $500, you can save yourself thousands and thousands in mistakes, and win thousands and thousands.”
Glanz, who is considered one of the best all-around players in the world with more than $3.5 million in live tournament winnings, will be joined by top teaching pro Tristan Wade, plus Randal Flowers and Jay Houston.
The games that will be covered are no-limit hold’em (cash and tournament) and pot-limit Omaha (cash). According to the course description, students are seated at tables with instructors who “analyze every play, hand-by-hand, street-by-street.”
