Bryn Mawr’s Jake Schindler won a World Series of Poker Circuit ring in a six-handed no-limit hold’em tournamentat the Palm Beach Kennel Club on Wednesday. Schindler, who rallied from a 4-to-1 chip disadvantage in heads-up play, won more than $24,700 in the $345 buy-in event. In last year’s WSOP in Las Vegas, Schindler cashed twice, including 48th in a six-handed tournament. At the Florida WSOP Circuit event. Schindler beat a Florida woman, Abbey Daniels, for his first major tournament win.

Three other Philadelphia-area players had deep runs in the the West Palm series’ Event No. 5 event that drew 391 entrants.

Roman Valertstein, of Newtown in Bucks County, finished 5th for more than $6,200.

Jamie Kerstetter, of Bensalem, had her second cash of the West Palm Beach Circuit series in 8th place for nearly$ 3,000. Kersetter was 38th in Event No. 2. Just as importantly, Kerstetter collected more points on the WSOPC leaderboard to earn a seat in the WSOP Circuit Championship, a $1 million freeroll at Caesars Palace in May.

Joseph Libretta, of Berlin, N.J., was 9th for $2,3339.
