The Parx Spring Showdown main event, a $1,600 buy-in no-limit hold’em re-entry event that saw Day 1B end late last night, drew 195 entrants for a prize pool of nearly $284,000. First place will pay more than $65,000. The evnt is a World Poker tour regional.
Among the chip leaders heading into Tuesday’s Day 2 is Norristown’s Brian Lemke, a World Series of poker bracelet-winner. Lemke was third in chips with 231,000. Leading the field was Morgan Litwin, of Connecticut, with 333,300 chips, followed by Roland Israelashvili, a prolific player from New York, with 305,000.
There’s a fistful of tough pros who are survivors in the remaining field of 60 players, including Matt Glantz, Paul “The Truth” Darden, Chalie Hook, Alex Rocha, Lee Childs, “Miami” John Cernuto and Edward Pham.
