Parx Kicks Off
WPT Season on Aug.1

July 24, 2012 -

Parx in Bensalem will hold the first U.S. World Poker Tour series of Season XI beginning Aug. 1.

The Parx Open Poker Classic is the casino’s first national WPT event with a TV final table. Earlier this year, Parx held a pair of WPT Regional events that had more modest buy-ins and no television production.

The Parx WPT main event is Aug. 10-15, with two starting days and a $3,500 total buy-in.

The Parx WPT series will include nine events, from Aug 1 to Aug 15. Along with the nine series events, there’ll be a number of satellites—most will be $200 total and a few are $400—and a couple of deep stack tournaments with smaller buy-ins.

The first series event will be a $230 total buy-in no-limit hold’em re-entry that will likely draw a big field. The series includes a survivor, several bounties and an Omaha limit hi-low 8-or-better.
