Online Whiz Herm
Cashes at WSOP

June 29, 2012 -

Online poker whiz Mark Herm, of Chesterbrook, cashed in a World Series of Poker event for more than $5,700. Herm was regarded as one of the top Internet poker players in the world prior to the federal crackdown on Internet poker in April 2011. Northeast Philly’s Amanda Musumeci, who won more than $481,000 earlier in the WSOP, credits Herm with helping back her at the beginning of her online poker career.

Herm, a loyal Philly sports fan, finished 39th in a $1,500 buy-in pot-limit Omaha hi-low split, 8-or-better tournament that attracted 978 entrants.

Other local players to cash in the PLO Omaha high-low were David Johnston, of Toms River, N.J., 54th for $4,872, and
Allen Kessler, of Huntingdon Valley, 71st for $3,697.
