Nik Wallenda makes his high wire walk 100 feet above the Atlantic City beach beginning at 3 p.m., Thursday.
The highwire artist will take a 1,500-foot walk 100 feel above the beach from the Atlantic Club Casino to the Tropicana.
The Wallenda Family Experience, a show featuring a lineup of daredevils, will be performing at the Trop for six weeks beginning Aug. 12.
The event is being sponsored by the Atlantic City Alliance, the marketing organization that’s leading the effort to promote the resort city.
Wallenda expects to complete the walk in 27 minutes, using only a 24-foot balance pole. He won’t be using a harness or other safety mechanisms.
In June, Wallenda became the only person to cross directly over the precipice of Niagara Falls. That stunt, televised on ABC, attracted more than 19 million viewers on live TV.
