Buzgon — who has eight tournament cashes so far this year after 13 cashes in 2011, according to poker data bases — finished third in a $1,090 no-limit hold’em event on Sunday at the Borgata Spring Open collecting $13,823. The tournament was No. 14 in 21 being played at the Borgata’s Spring series. Among other high local finishers, Mohamed Elkerdawy, of Brigantine, N.J., was seventh for $5,820. Anthony Arnieri, of Lumberton, N.J., made it through the bubble to finish 18th and earn $2,183.
The event, which drew 150 entrants, was won by Vineet Pahuja, of Hicksville, N.Y., for $43,648.
In the 2011 WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship, Buzgon advanced to the TV table where he finished third for $335,433.
