A new condo project appears to be going up near Revel, Atlantic City’s new luxury casino-resort that opens April 2.
Last week, the Casino Reinvestment Development approved the land use application of Lazocean at Metropolitan for the area of Atlantic city that is called the South Inlet. The project called “The Metropolitan” is a high-rise condominium and retail use project on Boardwalk frontage between Metropolitan and Rhode Island Avenues.
Plans call for 124 units with Boardwalk retail, indoor and outdoor swimming areas, a fitness center, indoor and outdoor lounge areas and other resident and guest amenities. It will also include a robotic parking system that stacks vehicles on what appear to be racks and will accommodate 249 vehicles. According to published reports, the project would break ground in 2013 and be ready for occupancy in 2014.
The Metropolitan would be near Revel where the Casino Redevelopment Authority has invested more than $48 million in road widening and utilities to create an entryway to Revel and the South Inlet area.
