Former Employees File
Suit against Borgata

Twenty-two former employees of the Borgata have filed an age bias suit against the resort, according to a report in a legal journal (registration required).

Law360 reports: “The 22 former employees, who had worked at the Borgata since it opened in July 2003, claim they were all wrongfully terminated in May 2011 under the guise of a reduction in force while the Borgata replaced them with – or assigned their jobs to – younger employees, the complaint says.”

The former employees’ ages are listed in the complaint as 44 to 65, the Law360 article states, and each of the employees was a pit manager or associate pit manager.

The legal journal reports that a property spokeswoman declined to comment on the suit, citing a company policy against discussing ongoing legal matters.
