Downingtown Player
Writes Happy Ending

April 22, 2012 -

Self-admitted “failed novelist” Scott Waddell, of Downingtown in Chester County, was the winner at the Borgata’s Spring Open Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo event pocketing $9,625 on April 12. Second place went to Mike Fujita, of Albany, N.Y.

Waddell bested a field of 81 players in the $400 buy-in event that included three-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner “Miami” John Cernuto.

Waddell told the Borgata’s Poker Blog that he’s “a failed novelist who now plays poker for a living.”

When Wadell was asked about important hands in the tournament, he told the Borgata blog, “I sucked out on Miami John.”
