The 75th season of live racing at Delaware Park begins Saturday and will feature 100 days, with the meet concluding on November 3.
Delaware Park’s live racing will be held on Saturdays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
There are some exceptions to the regular schedule. There will be no live racing on the first Thursday of the meet, May 17. But there will be a special Father’s Day live racing card on Sunday, June 17. There will not be live racing the following Monday, June 18.
Daily first race post time is set for 1:15 p.m. except on August 23 & 30 and September 6 & 13 for twilight racing when first race post time is set for 3:30 p.m. Admission and general parking are free.
Two premier races, the $750,000-guaranteed Grade II Delaware Handicap and the $400,000-guaranteed Grade II Delaware Oaks, will highlight the 19-race, $2.825 million stakes schedule this year.
The 75th renewal of the Delaware Handicap will be run on Saturday, July 21. The 1 1/4-mile summer classic for fillies and mares is the highlight of the Delaware Handicap Day card, which will also include the $100,000 Sussex Stakes.
Additionally this season, the fillies will take center stage in the 61st renewal of the 1 1/16-mile $400,000 Grade II Delaware Oaks. The supporting feature on the Delaware Oaks Day card will be the $200,000 Grade III Robert G. Dick Memorial Stakes.
