June 22, 2012 -
A show suitable for all ages, the musical ensemble Celtic Thunder, will be at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City from June 27 through July 8. There will be nine shows, all at 9 p.m., but there will be no performances on July 2-3.
Celtic Thunder has been immensely popular as family entertainment and the ensemble’s DVDs are so popular, they’re used as pledge gifts on PBS. The new show is being described as a “cross between an Irish Hooley and your favorite Celtic Thunder show.” A hooley is an old time Irish expression for a dance and party, so expect an atmosphere of warm-welcome at this performance.
The selection of Irish and Celtic songs in the new show will feature a few from the previous Celtic Thunder shows as well as some surprises. Solo numbers will include fan favorites such as “Mountains of Mourne”, “My Boy”, “Ride On”, “She” and “My Irish Molly O”, while a few of the ensemble numbers will be “Ireland’s Call”, “Take Me Home” and “Still Haven’t Found”.
The show coincides with the release of new Celtic Thunder DVD VOYAGE II being released June 26 at Amazon. That DVD will also be used as a pledge gift for PBS audiences in June and August.
