Poker players at the Borgata were dealt a good hand at the resort’s recent Three Play no-limit hold’em tournament, Aug 8-11. The event had a $200 buy-in with a $30 entry fee and drew 943 players. While that was a good number for an event being held just as the World Series of Poker Main Event started in Las Vegas, it meant that the Borgata had to add about $11,000 to the prize pool. That’s the kind of added value players enjoy.
The highest local finisher was Daniel Bellamah, of Brigantine, who finished 11th for $2,242. Luis Vazquez, from Massachusetts, won the tournament and collected $41,102.
The Three Play offers 20,000 in starting chips and three starting days with a $2,500 bonus to the chip leader for each opening round. The top 100 players cashed with a minimum payout of $374.
